I would say that there is nothing that better illustrates the wrongness of many, MANY cis people’s attitudes toward transness than this sentence.

Why?

Substitute “white” for “cis” and then substitute “PoC” for “trans.”
Or substitute “abled” and “disabled.”
“male” and “female.”

And on, and on, and on. 

It is well worth noting that the person who said that felt comfortable saying it in a feminist space moderated mostly by trans people.

And this is why we cis people fail all the damned time. Dear fellow cis people, sit down and shut up already about trans women’s and men’s bodies.
